CIESD is a consulting partnership (John Heinbokel and Jeff Potash) that works with diverse clients from education, non-profit organizations, and government to better understand and manage complex systemic problems.

We utilize the tool- and mind-sets of system dynamics and apply them through our “Ladder of Engagement,” a powerful three-phase sequence of questions, explorations, and analyses:

  • What do we KNOW about the behavior of the system?
  • What do we UNDERSTAND about the feedback that controls that behavior?
  • What leverage do we have to INFLUENCE that behavior?
